Reports to: Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation

Job Definition:
Drives school bus as required on home to school and field trips under the supervision of DMOT.
Job Responsibilities:
Places the safety and well being of students above all other issues.
Prepares and maintains routine forms, records and reports related to daily activities, vehicle operations and student misconduct.
Using good judgment and district policies, maintains student behavior on bus.
Performs all duties in a safe and responsible manner.
Exercises good judgment with regard to driving conditions.
Becomes familiar with the various bus routes of the district.
Learns and follows all district policies, procedures and regulations.
Operates vehicles in accordance with state law and district policy.
Takes proper care of assigned vehicles and equipment.
Uses all supplies and tools in an efficient manner.
Cooperates with regulatory agencies with regard to inspections.
Attends training as required to keep abreast of new developments in the area.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education:
Completion of 12th grade or equivalent. All required vehicle and first aid training necessary to maintain school bus certificate.
Knowledge of:
Safe and effective workplace practices. Safe handling practices of chemicals and cleaners. Laws and safety regulations and practices related to the operation of school vehicles.
Ability to:
Work effectively as part of a team. Perform required tasks without constant supervision. Take pride in maintaining a high quality facility. Provide input to the planning process. Maintain positive relations with staff and public.
Physical Characteristics:
Physically fit subject to manual labor and heavy lifting.

Manual dexterity to operate various tools, vehicles and equipment.
Licenses and other requirements:
Valid California Driver's License.
Valid School Bus Certificate (District reserves the right to impose 0 restrictions on certificate as needed).
Current Medical Certificate.
Working Conditions:
Indoor/outdoor environment. Subject to contact with fumes, noise, dust, fuel and chemical compounds. Subject to adverse weather and driving conditions. Subject to working from and climbing ladders.
Requirements for Applying
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school. All required vehicle training necessary to maintain valid Class C California Drivers' License. Successful candidate must clear fingerprint scan, submit proof of negative TB and pass a pre-employment physical exam.

Drives van or other vehicle as requested under the supervision of Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation. May drive students and deliver materials and/or equipment as requested on assigned route(s) in a timely manner to meet the needs of the students, staff, sites and department.Minimum four (4) hours per day - TBAPosition is as needed for the 2018-2019 School year.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
